Studies…
Wednesday, October 5th, 2005As my post has already deviated from its title, I’ve decided to change the title to "Studies…" instead. This post is actually dedicated to all my friends who are studying.
Finals are approaching everywhere, I guess. My final is coming in bout one month too. Hence, I have something to tell about studying (for exams, especially…)
I find that I prefer to play than to study. But why do I have to study if it bores me? Maybe, it’s because it secures my future happiness. But who knows bout the future? One very popular question that some like to ask is: Did Bill Gates go to university? They mean that not excelling in academic field doesn’t make one a failure. Then, I would like to ask: Does wealth guarantee happiness then? So, should I study?
Actually who would know if we were to achieve success, happiness, wealth (and what-so-ever that we are wishing for) in future? We can’t even be sure than we are still alive tomorrow, right? In that case, why must we put unnecessary burden, stress and pressure on ourselves? I personally think that life is meant to be beautiful (in spite of all the cruel realities happening whole wide world).
Hence, we should try to lead a happy life.
I am not discouraging anyone from studying hard (for exams, their "future" and etc) but shouldn’t we give priority to our very own welfare and happiness? At least, we don’t have to torture our bodies (and mind) by burning oil till dawn. Why must we go through all that just for some words on a piece of processed and treated cellulose?
Do what we can. Trying our best is enough. Don’t overdo things. Studying itself should not be an agony. Knowledge is definitely a valuable asset to everyone. However, don’t be affected by the PERCEPTION of the society. Don’t lose yourself. Be clear of what you want, not what others expect you to have.
