Horizon

A word that all would be most happy to avoid.

"Only if" and "should have" together have been said to make the saddest phrases present. "Only if I’ve known this…" " I should have done that…" They both speak of regrettable events which have had happened and could not be undone.

History repeats itself…

When I was in lower secondary, I’ve been told that one of the reasons we have History lessons in school is to learn from history. All of us learn from our past experience, for example we learn from mistakes. However, there is always something that we will never learn. In spite of making the same mistake over and over again…

Why?

Aren’t humans rational beings that are given with the ability to think? Then, why are we repeating our mistakes? And in the end, we hung our head low, brooding over the past, regretting what we have done…

But who doesn’t make mistakes? Who wouldn’t have regrets? It is just part and parcel of life. Since we can’t learn to eradicate it from life, we just have to accept it.
